The 49ers may need to go with their third starting quarterback of

the year when they face the Raiders on Thursday night.49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that C.J. Beathard will not participate in Tuesday’s practice because of a right wrist injury. Let’s jump to pick number 36.Pick 36-WR Hakeem Butler, Iowa StateUp to this point, both Ole Miss wide receivers and N’Keal Harry were the wide outs that had been selected. The 6’5 Butler might be one of the most polarizing, divisive players of the draft. It seems like you either hate him or love him. There’s no in between. I think I’m in between. Butler is an obvious athlete. You can see that when he adjusts for a pass or when the ball is in his hands. Butler is a contested catch monster that has a knack for making the big play. Butler is also one of the best receivers in the draft at getting his feet down in bounds along the sideline.The drops are going to drive you insane. Butler had 12 drops in 2018. His catch and drop rate suffer. They are mainly focus drops Joshua Garnett Jersey White , but they happen. That is the trade off with the highlight reel plays with Butler. When it’s time to separate at the top of the route is where Butler needs improvement. He can do a much better job of selling his routes, as opposed to telegraphing them. Consistency as a route runner is lacking, but this is the area in the draft you take a player like Butler.Pick 67-S Darnell Savage, MarylandThe safeties that are off the board are Juan Thornhill of Virginia, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson of Florida, Deionte Thompson of Alabama, Johnathan Abram of Mississippi State Kyle Juszczyk Jersey , Nasir Adderly of Delaware, and Taylor Rapp of Washington. Getting a quality safety like Savage at pick 67 would be ideal for the 49ers. To me, Savage is better than most of the names that were just listed. He plays with a level of intensity that is needed on the Niners defense. Savage is a versatile safety that lines up all over the place. He stole the show at the combine, by running a 4.36 40-yard dash. He’s a smart football player, too. I don’t have many bad things to say about Savage. He’s my favorite safety.This draft might be the best case scenario for the 49ers if they stay put at all their picks.
