Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said new Lions defensive tackle Damon Harrison should feel free to take his time reporting to Detroit following his trade from the New York Giants on Wednesday.Carroll’s team is set to face the Lions this Sunday and Carroll wanted to make it clear he would be totally OK with Harrison waiting until the weekend before reporting to his new squad.“I was hoping he鈥檚 going to take his time getting there Kenny Golladay Jersey White ,” Carroll told Detroit reporters, via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.聽“Maybe even drive or something, get there on Saturday or whatever. That鈥檚 the best thing that鈥檒l happen for us, if he arrives maybe on Saturday.”Harrison was brought in to help the Lions shore up a porous run defense that is allowing 139.3 yards per game on the ground, which ranks 30th in the league. The 5.3 yards per rush allowed ranks dead last. Meanwhile, Harrison is one of the top interior run defenders in the NFL.“There鈥檚 not much you can do with that guy. He鈥檚 really a monster in there and the running game Womens Kenny Golladay Jersey , yes, but he also causes problems in the pass game,” Carroll said. The Lions have 21 sacks through six games, which ranks tied for fourth most in the NFL. Only the Baltimore Ravens (27), Denver Broncos (22) and Pittsburgh Steelers (22) have more sacks, though the Ravens and Broncos have each played one more game than the Lions. If they can get their run defense to make significant strides , Detroit might find itself with a pretty solid defense the second half of the season.Carroll would be fine if they waited until after Sunday to begin that transformation.Lions-Jets Week 1 snap counts highlight team’s 2nd-round pick failures Here are the snap counts and some observations from the Detroit Lions’ Week 1 game against the New York JetsOffense:QuarterbacksMatthew Stafford: 63 (90%)Matt Cassel: 7 (10%)Running backsTheo Riddick: 41 (59%)Kerryon Johnson: 16 (23%)LeGarrette Blount: 13 (19%)FullbacksNick Bellore: 6 (9%) — 18 (56%)Tight endsLevine Toilolo: 20 (29%) — 5 (16%)Hakeem Valles: 18 (26%)Luke Willson: 14 (20%) — 14 (44%)Michael Roberts: 14 (20%) — 9 (28%)Wide receiversKenny Golladay: 65 (93%)Marvin Jones Jr.: 62 (89%)Golden Tate: 57 (81%)TJ Jones: 17 (24%)Bradley Marquez: 7 (10%)— 18 (56%)Offensive tacklesTaylor Decker: 70 (100%) — 5 (16%)Rick Wagner: 70 (100%) — 5 (16%)Guards/centersGraham Glasgow: 70 (100%) — 5 (16%)Frank Ragnow: 70 (100%) — 5 (16%)T.J. He only played 16 total snaps, and it may have been even less had starter LeGarrette Blount not gotten benched/hurt. Blount did go down with an injury, but the teamlater said they didn’t have an injury to report for Blount. Based on my own observations, it looked like they were subbing in Johnson immediately, before they realized Blount was even hurt. On the play he was injured, Blount fumbled the ball—though officials rules his forward progress stopped. All of this is to say that I think Blount was simply benched Womens Tracy Walker Jersey , not injured, and it may mean more Johnson going forward. Good to see the offensive line finally play an entire game togeth—oh hell... Expectations were low for tight end Luke Willson after an underwhelming training camp. Apparently the coaches saw the same thing, as Willson played in just 14 snaps, the lowest of all four tight ends—tied with Michael Roberts, who has been just as big of a disappointment. In the past two years, Glover Quin has played 100 percent of the team’s defensive snaps in 67 of 80 games. Either his age is catching up with him or he’ll have a decreased role due to Quandre Diggs’ emergence Womens Da'Shawn Hand Jersey , but either way he just played 67 percent of snaps on Monday. After scratching A’Shawn, the Lions leaned heavily on their two veteran defensive tackles. Williams (age 29) and Francois (31) both played over 75 percent of snaps. I can’t imagine their bodies can withhold that kind of workload for an entire season. After Ziggy went down early, we mostly saw Kerry Hyder on the right edge. Not exactly a great situation for this defense to be in considering Hyder is coming off a torn Achilles. Special teamsSam Martin: 12 (38%)Don Muhlbach: 8 (25%)Matt Prater: 5 (16%)
